Your Body Has a Right Over You: Caring for the Amanah

Let the light of Ramadan meet you where you are. Keep going—your quiet efforts are being counted, and your heart is learning its way home.

Quote: “Your body has a right over you…” (Sahih al-Bukhari 5199)

The Prophet ﷺ teaches balance: worship without self-harm, devotion without neglecting the rights Allah placed upon you.

How yoga helps you embody this teaching

Gentle movement, mobility, breathwork, and relaxation can support the body’s rights—especially if you carry stress in the hips, back, or shoulders. When approached as an amanah, caring for the body becomes part of spiritual responsibility, not vanity.

Practice: Amanah Stretch (4 minutes)

  • Neck release (slow, gentle)
  • Shoulder rolls with long exhales
  • Child’s pose or a seated forward fold
  • One minute of calm breathing
